Emmanuel Elibariki, better known as Nay Wa Mitego—or NayTrueboy if you wanna get fancy—he’s basically a legend in Tanzania’s hip hop and Bongo Flava scene. Dude was born in Manzese, Dar es Salaam, June 6, 1986 (Gemini season, for those keeping score).

He kicked off his music adventure way back in ‘96, dropping a demo called “Dala Dala” all on his own, no industry hand-holding.

Then around 2000, he put out his first actual studio track under Sound Crafter Records, then came “Nina kupenda,” but it was “Itafamika” in 2006 that really exploded everything for him.
