Artist: Harmonize

Harmonize, a Tanzanian artist celebrated as a singer, songwriter, and dancer, carved his path into the African mainstream in the late 2010s with his energetic fusion of bongo flava and appealing Afro-pop. A versatile solo artist and multi-instrumentalist, key moments in his ascent include “Kwa Ngwaru,” a standout collaboration with Diamond Platnumz, and his ambitious 2020 album, Afro East, which showcased features from Yemi Alade and Morgan Heritage.
Beginning his journey as Rajabu Abdul Kahali, sometimes called Konde Boy, Harmonize debuted in 2015 with the bright and melodic single “Aiyola.” A significant step followed in 2016 with “Bado,” Earning him the WatsUp Africa Music Video Award for Best African Newcomer Video, this marked his initial collaboration with Tanzanian icon Diamond Platnumz.
Tracks like “Happy Birthday” and “Sina” built momentum, culminating in his 2017 breakthrough hit, the infectious “Kwa Ngwaru,” once again featuring Diamond Platnumz.
The 2018 club banger “Fire Waist,” with Skales, further expanded his fanbase ahead of his debut EP, Afro Bongo, released the following year. 2019 also marked the launch of his own imprint, Konde Music Worldwide, and collaborations with artists such as Sheebah, Eddy Kenzo, and Phyno, all leading to his debut full-length album, Afro East, in 2020.
