Artist: Jay Melody | New Mp3 Songs, Video Downloads & Short Biography

So, here’s the thing about Jay Melody—dude just oozes talent. Seriously, people don’t call him Tanzania’s “King of Melodies” for nothing. He grew up in Dar es Salaam, you know, that super lively city that’s basically the heart of Tanzanian music. Little Jay ( Sharif Said Juma) started messing around with music way back in primary school—Muhalitani, around ‘05 to 2011, if you’re nosy about the details—and just kept the fire burning right through Bunju A Secondary.
By 2016, instead of just humming tunes in class like everybody else, he decided to go all-in and enrolled at Tanzania House of Talent. Fancy name, right? Not just for show though, he actually learned his craft there. Got his songwriting, stage presence, everything, seriously polished.
Then in 2017, bam. Epic Records Tanzania picked him up, and if you know Tanzanian labels, you know that’s a flex. The late Ruge Mutahaba, total legend, was part of that scene—so you know Jay’s got good taste in mentors.
Before he even started putting out his own tunes, Jay Melody straight-up penned the banger “Kivuruge” and just handed it over to Nandy and the thing blew up everywhere, and became a massive international hit.
After that, he didn’t just fade into the background. Nope. He came out swinging with “Goroka” and then kept the hits rolling—”Namwaga Mboga” with Nandy, “Mikogo sio” with Dogo Janja, plus a bunch of other tracks. Honestly, if you’ve even glanced at Tanzanian pop lately, you’ve seen his name. Singer, songwriter, actor, model—sounds exhausting, but clearly, he’s not slowing down any time soon.
